​​Project Goal:

WEBTOON’s OG creator Shen has been making readers laugh and think with Bluechair for over 10 years. It’s a delightful, relatable comic, and I wanted to bring some of those episodes to life through animation. Our goal was to create a series of slice-of-life comedic shorts that felt fun and shareable, without heavy WEBTOON branding or overbearing CTAs. We wanted it to resonate with longtime fans, indie animation lovers, and anyone who appreciates Shen’s unique humor and perspective. With his thoughtful guidance, our internal animation team reinterpreted the comic’s style and pushed the visual boundaries of what the world of Bluechair could look like. While all the animations live within one collection, each short has its distinct visual flavor. It was a full team effort: from voice acting to sound design, animation, and character work, everything was created in-house. I worked closely with Shen to curate and pick the episodes that would be adapted.

The series is currently being released every 2 weeks, and so far, 2 out of the 6 videos have been shared on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube 

With a combined total so far of 846K views | 93K likes | 750+ comments, with more growth to come as the next 4 shorts release soon!
